OK.... I was getting my news this morning as I usually do when I ran across this story on CNN.

Now I'm not going to go into the full details of it or anything, you can read the fucking story for yourself. But my whole thing with this is... Do they really go to the movies that much in fucking Afghanistan? Let alone small art house style indie flicks? I mean come the fuck on... really? Really?

2006 - The Year That Was

I don't really do many of these anymore (well with any actual thought behind them) but I figured why not just go ahead and turn out one last one. So yeah.... 2006 according to me...

This year fucking sucked. But that's how I roll it seems. I have my good years and bad. The good ones tend to fall on odd-numbered years while the even ones tend to... well, suck. 2005 was pretty cool. Fun was had. 2006.... Fun was had, but not as much or without its price. It brought me together with people, that for the most part, I had forgotten about. But it also split some people apart, which sucked... In a big way. But you know, that's just fucking life. It's not fun and no one likes it, but sometimes that's just the way shit works out. It's un-fucking-fortunate but you just gotta deal with shit and just say fuck it. It's in the past. You can't let shit bog you down, well you can, I just wouldn't recommend it for more than at least 2 to 3 months. It's not healthy. You gotta get up, get out, and get some... I think. Moving along... The year had it's firsts for me. I'm not at liberty to divulge details but I enjoyed myself. I turned 19 for the first time (as if I will again)... Which was underwhelming. But then again it's only 19. 19 isn't anything special. Now twenty hookers when I turn 20, well that would be something.
I met a few cool people. Did some cool things. But a lot of things didn't turn out so cool. Met and went out with a few girls I met, that didn't turn out cool at all. Made my first drunken mistake. Had my first car accident. Lot of un-coolness. Life is a fucking wave. It's up and down, up and down. Sometimes you get pulled under but you just gotta swim back up to surface so you can get back to shore... and have some lobster, cause that shit is damn good.

So yeah... 2006, you had your good qualities but you mostly just suck the fun out of living. You're like the A-Bomb, it's 2005 and every one's walking around, laughing, having a good time, and then BOOM! You show up, every things dead. 2007 you gotta pick up the slack man. If I have another off-year... I will.... I'll..... I will pee all over my pants... AND THEN who's going to end up looking bad? Eh?

Friday, October 06, 2006

Well, I meant to start doing this the first week of the season, but I just never got around to it. So here it is.

Buffalo at Chicago – Chicago. With the way the Bears defense has been playing the last few years they're easily one of the best teams in the NFC. Now that Rex Grossman has finally gotten to start for a few consecutive games he's really coming into his own and leading this offense, making smart decisions with the football, and putting points on the board. Plus the Bills suck and there's no way they're going to upset the Bears at home. Daaaaaaaaaa Bears, FOR THE WIN!

Cleveland at Carolina – Carolina. I like Carolina at home this week against the Browns. Even though the Browns are coming off of last weeks come from behind win, let's not forget who they beat: Da Raidaaas. Now Carolina is a much better team than Oakland so if the Browns struggled for as long as they did last week against Carolina this week, well there's just no way they come back against the Panthers defense. Plus with Steve Smith back in action you can really see the impact he has on that offense. It's going to take a lot from the Browns secondary to come up and try and make big plays and take Steve Smith out of the equation.

Detroit at Minnesota – Minnesota. Here we go, a nice NFC North match up. The Vikings are one of those teams that no one expected to be doing this well so far into the season. At 3-1 the Vikings are proving that they put last season and all the scandals that came with it to rest and they've got their minds on the game again. Brad Childers has done a good job of taking a weak team in a very weak division (except for the Bears that is) and turning them around and possibly making them a Wildcard contender. Plus let us not forget that the Lions are just plain bad.

Miami at New England – New England. Again, here's a nice division showdown, except this time we have the AFC East. Miami was one of those teams that everyone picked to win the division during training camps and the preseason. With Dante Culpepper working that offense, and with Miami's receiver corps, they were a top preseason pick. Now that the regular season is well underway, reality is rearing its ugly head once again for Nick Saban and his Dolphins. After getting off to a 1-3 start everyone's jumped off that bandwagon and it would seem most people are putting their faith into the Pats to take the division again, especially after showing people they still have what it takes to win a ballgame after blowing out my pick to win the AFC, Cincinnati last week. Tom Brady is a smart, quick thinking QB, who's more than capable of reading the defense and working through his progressions during the play, and I just don't see Miami's defense stepping up and making the stops where it counts, especially since they're playing in Foxboro. Also Bill Belichick is a football genius.

St. Louis at Green Bay – St. Louis. – Come on? Did anyone actually expect me to take the Packers here? Brett Favre just isn't the same QB he once was. He's always had that "gunslinger" mindset but he seems more content to try and force the pass into tight spots more than ever lately. Last season injuries plagued the Packers, but they still don't have what it takes in a division that has the 4-0 Bears, and the 3-1 Vikings. Experience counts on the field and Green Bay is severely lacking in that department with the team age averaging somewhere in the low to mid 20's. The Rams however, have a very experience and explosive group of receivers and if Green Bays secondary doesn't make the big plays this weekend then it looks like this year might be just as bad for Green Bay fans as last year.

Tampa Bay at New Orleans – New Orleans. Tampa Bay is just playing bad football. Plain and simple. With Chris Simms out indefinitely with a spleen injury that included internal bleeding, there's no way Tampa Bay can upset New Orleans at home. After a hot 3-0 start, New Orleans received its first loss last week on the road in Carolina in what was a close match up decided by a last minute field goal by Carolina. The Saints are playing with a desire to win that I haven't seen them have in years…. Or ever for that matter. Look for Reggie Bush to get his first NFL TD this week against a weak Tampa defense.

Tennessee at Indianapolis – Indy. Hmmm… the 0-4 Titans led by the rookie Vince Young, or the 4-0 Colts at home led by the always dependable Peyton Manning. Nuff said.

Washington at N.Y. Giants – Washington in a close one. After a rough start with two straight losses, the Redskins now stand at 2-2 and are starting to look a bit more like the playoff team we saw last season. Mark Brunell had a hell of a game last weekend and while I don't expect him to be quite as successful as last week, I still think that as long as he doesn't turn the ball over too much they can get out of New York with a win. I wouldn't count the Giants out altogether though. I think they're hungry for a win after getting embarrassed by the Seahawks two weeks ago and I think they'll come out quick and try and put some points on the board fast. If they can't get ahead early, then I think Washington takes this one. The Giants secondary has allowed 829 yards through the air and with a deep threat like Santana Moss they're going to have to put the pressure on him and force Brunell to look elsewhere.

Kansas City at Arizona – Arizona. I like Matt Leinart starting at home against Kansas City this week. Dennis Green finally put him in last week against the Falcons after the game was well out of their hands, and other than the fumble lost and the one interception I think Leinart looked pretty well in his debut. With Fitzgerald and Bolden he has two powerful weapons at wide out and Kansas City isn't exactly known for their defense so I like Arizona over Kansas City this week.

N.Y. Jets at Jacksonville – Toss Up. This game could go either way from where I sit. Eric Mangini has done a good job so far but his one area that could use some improvement is his decision making. Going for it on 4th and 1 last week cost them a chance at ultimately getting into overtime against the Colts in what turned out to be one hell of an exciting game. That said, the Jags defense also gave the Colts offense a run for their money and the Colts are far from some of the bottom feeders the league has. This is going to be a battle between the defenses. I don't see this being a high scoring game and whoever is able to find a weakness and exploit it is going to be the one heading to the locker room with another win under their belt.

Oakland at San Francisco – Oakland. If Alex Smith had Vernon Davis this week then I'd take them over Da Raidaaaaas but he doesn't. And Oakland just has to win at least one game this season, right? RIGHT? That being said, you couldn't pay me to watch this game.

Pittsburgh at San Diego – San Diego. Phillip Rivers is playing better than expected. During his fumble ridden preseason, Chargers head coach, Marty Schottenheimer was asked if he was worried about Rivers abilities under center, he said he was confident in his skill and was positive he'd make the right moves once the season began. After a 2-1 start, with their one loss coming against a stingy Ravens defense in Baltimore last week, I think the Chargers have what it takes to pull one over on the defending Super Bowl champs. The Steelers just haven't been playing the smash mouth football their known for and I don't see their defense stepping up this week against an offense that includes LaDainian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates.

MONDAY NIGHT MATCH UP - Baltimore at Denver – Baltimore

This is a tough one. You have a Baltimore team that has its defense playing much like they did when they won the Super Bowl in 2001, add a potent offense with Steve Mcnair under center and you have a recipe for another championship season. However, Denver isn't exactly a pushover and playing in Mile High Stadium always has some sort of affect on the visiting team but with the way Jake Plummer has been turning the ball over, I see him being benched sometime during the game in favor of the rookie preseason stand out, Jay Cutler. Fans in Denver have been clamoring for weeks to see head coach Mike Shanahan start Cutler over Plummer and if Plummer has another bad game, well it may be a while before we see him start another NFL game. Unless the Raiders make a nice offer that is.

*GAME OF THE WEEK - Dallas at Philadelphia*

Did you really expect anything else here? The showdown in Philly. Terrell Owens and his "25 million reasons to live" against Donovan McNabb, his Mother, and her Chunky Campbell's Soup. I see why everyone is so excited about this game and the hype surrounding it but at the same time I don't. It's not like they're going to be on the field at the same time. If T.O. was a DB or a LB, then I could see why its so hyped up but its just going to be them taking turns on the field out there. I know McNabb is having a career season so far, but with the Eagles secondary plagued with injuries I don't see them being able to take Owens out the equation. Plus even if they manage to put the pinch on Owens they still have to contest with Terry Glenn who is also having a great year so far. Then if they make a deal with devil and somehow manage to cover both Owens and Glenn you still have the Tight End, Jason Whitten over the middle. The only way Dallas can loose this game is if Drew Bledsoe throws more than 2 interceptions. So, I like Dallas over the Eagles.

So yeah, those are my picks for this week in the NFL. So this week, winning I have: Chicago, Carolina, Minnesota, New England, St. Louis, New Orleans, Indy, Washington, Arizona, Oakland, Dallas, and Baltimore, with the Jets vs. Jags a toss up.

Also since the MLB playoffs kicked off this week, I figured I'd lay out my picks all the way to the World Series.

AL – the Yankees over the Tigers. The A's over the Twins. From there we get the Yankees over the A's.

NL – Mets over the Dodgers. St. Louis over San Diego. Then, the Mets over the Cards.
World Series – Mets over the Yanks in 6.

It seems like forever since I've had a good night's sleep. It's fucking killing me, people. It's fucking killing me. It's killing "FUN" Jer... there's only "bleh" Jer. I don't think I can stress that enough. I really don't. It just sucks when I'm all... well, blah. I'm no fun then. I know that, but I can't help it. Lately for some reason, I can't function as well as I use to on just 4 or 5 hours of sleep. But that's just the gangsta life I lead.

I did something this week that I have always sworn that I would never do..... I got a cell phone. That's right. I finally got with the times. I fought it for as long as I possibly could but in the end.... the ends justify the means.... or something like that. I think that's the wrong phrase actually. Oh well forget about that, it don't matta. Focus. I got a phone. Yeah. Maintain. OK..... Yeah I got a phone. It's cool. It's a "Boost Mobile" phone. Remember, "With Boost Mobile phones you can make or receive cellular phone calls". Damn yeah. I got the whole city behind me. WHERE YOU AT DAWG?

Sometimes I really hate being so indifferent to... well, just about everything. I can't relate to shit. Sucks. Horrible personality trait. It's like someone who fishes for compliments. I hate that. Can't stand it.

I went off this weekend. It was something. That's about all I have to say about that.... for the most part. I gotta be honest, I mean no dis-respect or anything, but ehhh... I'm weird. I just don't really fit in with most places or crowds. I always just feel..... I don't know... it's hard to describe really. I don't do well in large groups of people. And to me large is anything more than 3 or 4 ..... so ...... you know.... I'm weird. I really don't like being me. I think I would have more fun sometimes if I was someone else but... It's just not my scene. Nothing personal and no disrespect intended, can't stress that enough either, but you know... it takes different strokes to move the world, yo. What might be right for you, well it might not be right for some. You gotta respect the differences, and I try to for the most part. Good news is, with all the free time I had, I sorted a few things out in my head. I think I'm good with a few things I was struggling over so that's good... for me. Also, I think I should see like a shrink or something on a regular basis. I wonder if Blue Cross covers that. They better.

And I've had about a total of 10 hours of sleep over the last 48 hours and except for a few Cheez-its, nothing to eat. So, I'm going to fill up and then pass out because I have class in the morning.

Seacrest...............OUT!

Ahhhhyeeeaaarrrgggghhhh. Jesus-tap-dancing-titty-fucking-Christ. My neck is killing me. I've got a god awful pain right in the middle of one of what I can only assume to be a vertebrae. Hurts like the dickens. HA! Dickens... heh. Anyway like I was saying, it sucks basically is what I guess I'm trying to get at. I assume all the years of carrying around this massive skull of mine finally caught up with me. It's like a friggin Orange on top of a tooth pick. Well actually I take that back, it's not a tooth pick. It's more like a Lincoln Log. Damn yeah. Cause I'm cut... like a log...?

Right well.... moving along. Today was the first day of the semester. I have one last Algebra class (for a while at least), some Biology class, and what I believe is a History class. Lemme check my receipts really quick... mmmhmmmm... yeah.... just as I thought. It's History. I didn't have my schedule set in stone until Friday so I had to go and get all my books earlier this morning before my first class which is at 11. Well that was a bad idea. That tiny room they call the bookstore on the Warner Robins campus was packed elbows to asses. So taking time to take account of the fact that I was already going to probably be somewhat late for that class, I only went with the one that I needed at the moment. Turns out I had time to spare. The door was locked and no one had a key. Eventually one showed up to my dismay. I was chilling with my brothers iPod (My most listened track: Eddie Murphy - Soul Glo - Coming to America.) ; I wasn't quite ready to start class. I was only half way through Pat Benetar's "Love is a Battlefield" at the time. And I mean come on people, we all know you can't quit on a Pat Benetar song half way through. I mean that shit just goes without saying. It's like stepping on Superman's cape; some shit you just don't do.

So yeah. That class was ok. One weird thing though. There's this blind kid in the class, which I got no problem with. I'm not an anti-blindite? There's no way thats a word. Anyway, the teacher said something, the specifics escape me, but he made some kind of self deprecating blind joke. Something along the lines of "yep, I'm the resident blind kid". Like I said I'm not sure but it was something like that. Anyway, after he said that there was just the most awkward silence ever. Not only was everyone I saw looking around for direction as for what to do next, but the joke just flat out sucked. I know bad jokes, and that was a BAD joke. If you're gonna make a blind joke, at least make it a good one. That's all I'm saying.

OK... I'm really tired now so I'm just gonna make the rest of this the super short awesome version.

Super Awosome Fantastical Short Version: I went and got a new I.D. made so I can get on the base and it's without a doubt the best fucking picture of me that I have ever seen. I saw that picture I just wanted to tear my ass up. GODDAMN. Mmmmm. Went to class again around 8. Didn't care for it, and I probably won't at all. Popped in on a homie on the way home. I know.. what the fuck. I never do the "pop in". Well tonight I popped in. Stopped and picked up some very late dinner on the way home and here I sit and there I fucking go.

It's a goddamn shame that wasn't a noose.

Sunday, August 20, 2006

Well I say Goddamn, Goddamn, GODDAMN! It has been quite a week. I was unfortunate enough to come down with the itis. Bronchitis that is. Nasty shit. Can't say I care for it.

So again, I laid out of work this week but I had note... from a doctor. So that makes it all better. Then I played a game of back and forth with the fine folks at Macon State. I made like 5 trips there in 2 days. That shit will wreak hell on your gas flow. Finally got my class schedule straight and what not. I'm 1 hour short of being full time this semester. Rats. I have a few classes during the day this semester so it looks like my little stint with employment is going to be rather short lived. But oh the fuck well. School comes first. I don't wana hang sheet rock my whole fucking life. Fuck that noise. I still might be able to work like 3 days out of the week but who knows. We shall wait and see.

I kicked it with an old homie the other day. We went over to Billys. Dude works way too fucking much. It's just work, work, work, with that dude. I feel bad for him. Jessica cooked dinner for us. It was fucking delicious. Maybe it's me but its weird having a chic you went to school with cook you dinner and shit. Yeah... it's probably just me. I was going to go over there Friday night and get all kinds of fucked up but it didn't seem like a good time to me. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better one because I have to get good and messed up before Monday. Monday being the first day of classes and what not.

I read some shit today and.... well, I don't know. It just pissed me the fuck off. The audacity of this fucking cunt, it was just stunning. And I was totally ready to blast back with all kinds of stuff but I didn't for a change. Not sure why really. I guess I just wasn't as pissed as I thought I was. Or maybe it just wasn't worth it. Sure I can rip any fucker a new one, but would it really have made a difference? I think not.

One thing that perhaps I'll never quite understand, shit-talkers. I don't mean like myself. I'll rip your fucking ass to pieces any day of the week, if you're standing next to me or 100 miles away. It don't matta. But some fucks, I've never understood the point of talking shit.... and I mean like mad crazy shit about someone and acting like you're the fucking balls and shit, yet the one whom the shit is being talked about.... none the fucking wiser. You gonna sling some shit like that, well hell, sling it in their fucking face. Don't do it in some back room somewhere with a locked door. That shit ain't too cool. If I do say so myself. Which I think I just fucking did.

BELIVE DAT SHIT SON/GIRL/weird gender I don't even know about.... either fucking or.
So yeah... that's it and if you don't like it or whatever, well you can just fucking blow me. I'm tired and my eyes hurt.
